Artists Statement

I have been painting for a while. Sunday, I am showing still lifes and landscapes. The content of the still lifes are narrative, based on the selection of the objects, how they are arranged, color and lighting. I love to paint fabrics and always include a textile in the still life. The formal presentation of the paintings are partially based on a frontal stage set up of the subject matter and with directional lighting. The still life is set up in my studio and is not moved until the completion of the painting. I start out with a toned linen canvas.

I have also included plein aire landscape paintings and on location oil sketches painted in Pennsylvania and France. I look forward to showing you my artwork.
