Ardith is a native of the artistic and culturally diverse section of Philadelphia, Mount Airy. As a girl, she was hosted and educated by the Society of Friends, or Quakers.
Ardith achieved a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in 1985.
Long a commercial designer and illustrator, Ardith has resumed painting watercolors for sheer aesthetic pleasure. A Quakerish awe of the natural world is expressed in these paintings along with a hint of magical realism, or clues to a reality beyond the mundane.
Ardith Johnson Prial now resides in Maplewood, New Jersey
